I have taught various courses including, Sociology of Immigration, Sociology of Families, Elements of Sociology, and Social Problems, from these experiences I won the Bernstein Award for Future Faculty at the University of Kansas in 2019 an the Carlin Graduate Teaching Award in 2014.

I work closely with students to develop strong mentoring relationships. I have helped students apply to graduate school and gain prestigious awards such as the McNair Scholars Program. I also mentored the student club KU UNITED , connect students to resources within and outside the university, provide guidance in academia, and promote peer support.
